Welcome to The Shelly Company. As president of the company, I am proud of the work we do and how we go about doing it.
Things have changed quite a bit over the past 70 years. What started as a small, family-owned road surfacing company has grown into an award-winning statewide organization. We still resurface roads, but The Shelly Company does so much more. Yet the values Charles Shelly instilled back in 1938 remain with the Company today – to provide a product of which we can be proud while giving the customer a little more than they expected, all while keeping a focus on employee satisfaction.
As part of Oldcastle Materials Group, The Shelly Company has become a leader in asphalt production, ready mix concrete products, aggregate mining and, of course, road construction. Don’t just take my word for it. Organizations such as the Ohio Contractors Association, Associated General Contractors of America, Flexible Pavements of Ohio, the National Asphalt Pavement Association and others have all recognized The Shelly Company for its quality work, quality materials and commitment to safety.
The road construction business continues to evolve, yet one thing remains constant: The Shelly Company’s commitment to being a good neighbor. We strive to use the most modern, efficient and environmentally friendly technology, and our experienced employees continue to research and develop new techniques to be more efficient while increasing our awareness of the environment around us. We regularly upgrade and invest in our facilities to make sure they operate efficiently, cleanly and safely, and we have been recognized by the Ohio EPA for our efforts to keep the air and water clean as we strive to meet and exceed government regulations. We do it all for a very good reason: Our children breathe the same air and drink the same water as your children.

Our commitment to being a good neighbor goes beyond our operations, however. Our associates are part of the communities in which we operate. We are little league coaches, PTA members, volunteers at church and active members of charity organizations. We pay local taxes that support our schools and help pay for vital services such as police and fire protection. We are concerned about these communities because we don’t just do business in these towns – we raise our families here.
There’s a saying around our offices that states if you’ve driven in Ohio, the chances are good you’ve driven on a road built by The Shelly Company using materials we produce. We take pride in this. We are confident that our commitment to excellence means the roads you are driving on are safe, durable and economical. That’s our pledge to you.
