The Shelly Company is an equal opportunity employer |
We don’t just work in your neighborhoods; we’re a part of them. That’s one of the many reasons the Shelly Company is committed to protecting the environment. We constantly improve our plants to ensure that we are using the most environmentally friendly manufacturing processes available.
We proudly comply with all federal, state, and local regulations, rules, and laws that apply to our industry. We test our plants regularly and eagerly cooperate with federal and state regulators should a question or concern arise about one of our facilities.
That’s good for business and, most importantly to all of us here at Shelly, it’s good for the air and water we share with our neighbors across Ohio.
Finally, it’s important to note that the United States Environmental Protection Agency does not consider asphalt or concrete manufacturing to be a major source of hazardous air pollution (HAP). In fact, the U.S. EPA in 2002 published two separate notices in the Federal Register underscoring that fact. |
The Shelly Company takes pride in its reclamation efforts on the sites of two former sand & gravel operations. The Shelly Wildlife Habitat Site, located in Dresden, Ohio, is a privately owned and operated wildlife and educational center. Certified by the Wildlife Habitat Council, the site features a certified Wildlife Manager/Naturalist. And 96 acres of lakes, wetlands and groomed nature trails.
A second site, the Montpelier North Wildlife Site, has begun the process to reclaim a former sand & gravel operation and is moving toward WHC certification. |

Often, the biggest winner in a Shelly acquisition is the environment. Meeting stringent environmental requirements has presented an overwhelming challenge to some of Shelly's competitors. Often, Shelly acquires these competitors to bring them up to Shelly’s high standards for environmental accountability.
Shelly has enjoyed tremendous success through its solid business practices and sound environmental policies. Shelly has grown the company and its reputation though an intense focus on what matters most:
- Environmentally sensitive building and manufacturing processes wherever
and whenever possible
- Trust from our customers
- Quality on every job
- Safety for our employees, and all those who travel our roads
These tenets apply to all Shelly subsidiaries, and Shelly's ability to turn struggling companies into clean, winning subsidiaries is a source of enormous pride at the company. |
